About Us

You can learn more about Empower Parents in this video.

We made this video during our second year in order to give a quick look of what Empower Parents is all about. We hope you enjoy it.

Empower Parents is an educational community of families and professionals working at the ICO Museum (Madrid), Queens Museum (New York) and with hablarenarte:, in Madrid. Through cooperative work among institutions, professionals and families, seek to make an impact in the community where our educational project is developed in order to raise social awareness regarding the reality of people with ASD and their families.

Looking back in time, we could say that Empower Parents was initiated in 2013 between the Queens Museum of New York, the Fundación ICO and hablarenarte: granted by the American Alliance of Museums through the program Museums Connect under the authority of the Department of State of the USA.

One year later, in 2014, the Fundación ICO and hablarenarte: decided to continue the project in Spain to support inclusion in museums.

We want to promote new means of collaboration and support among administrations, institutions and professional groups in order to share resources and generate a greater impact through the actions that come about related on diversity and inclusion in museums and other cultural settings.
